Android Stress Robot (Figure, Doll, Ball)

Creative Android is Here!!

The new Creative ZiiO 7" entertainment tablet is the next evolution in wireless digital entertainment and mobile computing. Extremely compact, portable and lightweight, you don't have to think twice about taking it along wherever you go - the café, on the train or simply lounging on your sofa.

Unlike conventional tablets that offer mediocre sound, the ZiiO 7" does not compromise on audio quality. A touch of an onscreen button instantly launches the Pure Android Audio* application to offer audio-enhancing options including X-Fi, apt-X and Bluetooth® connectivity. With this unique application, you'll enjoy the highest quality wireless audio streamed from an Android tablet to compatible Bluetooth speakers or headphones.

What's more, the ZiiO 7” synchronizes the whole Pure Wireless entertainment ecosystem, delivering Pure Android Audio to not just your music, but movies, games and Internet content too.

The ZiiO 7” also lets you do what other Android tablets do - connect to the Internet, send emails and even shop for apps, games and eBooks from the Creative ZiiStore. Available in 8GB and 16GB versions, it's a portable entertainment tablet that lets you store, manage and stream all audio content from one device, while staying free from wires.

The tablet has a customized ZiiLABS ZMS-08 HD Media-Rich Applications Processor and comes with the X-Fi Crystalizer & Expand audio enhancements. While the Crystalizer helps enhance audio clarity by restoring lost detail, the Expand acts as an amplifier. Ziio also has the following features:

  • 7-inch Resistive Touch display with 480 x 800 resolution
  • Wi-Fi enabled, mini USB
  • Bluetooth 2.1 EDR (with A2DP)
  • Front facing VGA camera
  • 8 GB/ 16 GB expandable up to 32 GB

The tablet also features an accelerometer and has an HDMI-Out port that lets you watch 720p HD videos on your HDTV. Ziio supports quite a few audio formats including AAC, FLAC, OGG, MIDI and more. The video support includes H.264, WMV9 and MPEG4 formats. Strangely, neither DivX or xvid have been mentioned as supported.

The 8 GB version comes at a price of $249.99 while the 16 GB sets you back by $269.99.

Android Handphone - Google Nexus S

Summary

The Nexus S is an excellent phone. It’s not as nice as an iPhone 4 as a complete package. The tech specs are excellent; the Hummingbird processor: It’s fast. Pictures look fantastic, and text is crisp and readable. We had voice and data reception in numerous places in San Francisco where our phone is typically either wobbly, or has no signal. The real novelty in the hardware specs is the NFC (near field communication) antenna. Hold the phone near an object with an embedded NFC tag (like certain Google Places window displays) and the phone will recognize and import the tag. All of that hardware is crammed into one good-looking phone. We love this OS, and it reminds us why phone manufacturers and carriers should quit skinning up Android. Pure Android is Best Android.

Word selection during text entry has been greatly improved with 2.3, and it’s now easier to edit text you’ve already entered with multitouch to select partial blocks of text. One longstanding issue we found with Android phones is that users can easily be confused trying to quit out of an application. People end up with a phalanx of apps draining their battery and pinging away at them with notifications. This version of Android adds a dedicated “Manage Apps” option on the home menu. The major social media apps (Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare) were as charming as a debutante. The more sophisticated Android apps, like Layar, remain amazing.

But the cloud apps and internet services are where it’s at. Enter your e-mail address and password, and your Google contacts, calendars and, of course, e-mail all import nearly instantly. If you’re a Google Voice user, your calls and voicemails just start showing up on the new phone as if by magic.

It’s clear that Google’s cloud strategy is a winner. Once again, overall this is an excellent phone. The operating system could still be more user-friendly and intuitive, but we do not hesitate to recommend this phone.

Android Handphone - Android Sees 300,000 Daily Activations, Rubin Says

More than 300,000 Google Android phones are being switched on each day, according to a tweet from Android creator Andy Rubin. Google Android creator Andy Rubin said Dec. 8 that there are now 300,000 Android phones being activated each day.

Rubin's tweet was seconded by Android developer Dan Morrill.

Google's count of Android activations has been vociferously smacked down by Apple CEO Steve Jobs, who skewered Google's claims of Android being open and sporting 200,000 daily activations in October.

Steve Job is Eating his Hat when Samsung Galaxy Tabs sold more than a million

Holy moley. That’s not too far away from the iPad, which sold 1 million units in just 28 days. And it’s a number that should have Steve Jobs eating his hat after he ruthlessly derided 7-inch tablets during an earnings call.
“Seven-inch tablets are tweeners: too big to compete with a smartphone and too small to compete with the iPad,” Jobs said. “These are among the reasons that the current crop of 7-inch tablets are going to be DOA — dead on arrival.”

HTC Confirms 'Gingerbread' Support!

Summary
HTC has confirmed that "Gingerbread," the new Android 2.3 OS, will be released on some HTC Android phones. Unfortunately, other phone manufacturers haven't been as forthcoming.
A spokesperson for HTC said, "We are excited about the OS update coming for Android, and while HTC will definitely have some phones running this OS, we do not have a specific timeframe for new phones or updates at this time."

This is great news for those HTC Android users whose phones will receive the update, but where does that leave everyone else? The Android updates available seem to vary just as much as the phones themselves do.
